New 2012 Annual Grant Application on ORBI Grants Page

The application form for the 2012 annual grant program is now on the Grants Page.

There is one major change this year. Based on the evaluation following the 2011 grant panel meeting, we have added an optional page that you can file with your application.

If you believe that the income and expense categories on the project budget page need more explanation, you may include a one page budget narrative to your application. This page will not count as one of your five support materials pages.

The budget narrative will be limited to one page, so you need to keep your explanations brief.

ORBI Public Grant Panel Meeting March 1 in Parkersburg, WV

The public ORBI review of grant applications for the 2011 annual grant program will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the West Virginia Central Credit Union at 809 Division Street, Parkersburg, WV.

If you are considering applying to ORBI for one of our annual grants, attending our annual grant review is the best way to learn how to present a successful application. The review is open to the public, and decisions on all grant awards will be made publicly by the end of the afternoon session.

Theatre de Jeunesse Holding Auditions for Les Miserables School Edition

Theatre de Jeunesse, Inc., a free theatre arts program for Mid-Ohio Valley students, announces auditions and technical crew sign-ups for the July production of Les Miserables School Edition based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel.

“orbi.org” Address Temporarily Not Working

ORBI’s former Web site host, CityNet, has messed up and the address “orbi.org” doesn’t work for the Web site right now. We hope to have this problem fixed in a day or two. In the meantime, you can come directly to the site using “www.orbiartsnetwork.wordpress.com” or “www.orbiarts.org”.

“orbi.org” started working again on 12/23/2010. If you are still having problems getting to the Web site using that URL, please contact the Project Director at 304-655-8255.

2011 On Line Grant Application Will Be Posted by December 1

The on line application form for ORBI’s 2011 annual grant program will be posted sometime before December 1, 2010. The deadline for grant applications is February 1, 2011.

The 2010 form, which appears as a link on the ORBI Grant’s page, cannot be used for the 2011 grant program. If you have any questions about the annual grant program or want to know if a project would qualify for funding, don’t hesitate to contact Bill Howley, Project Director at 304-655-8255.

November Events

What’s left of November/December events are now up on the Bulletin Board page. Vacation in the first part of the month played havoc with our regular posting schedule. Things will return to normal in December.

If you have events in the ORBI region that you would like to post, you can post a comment directly on the Bulletin Board page the way Sharon Hanse did. The beauty of ORBI’s new Web site format is that you can post comments and information directly to the site.

Of course, November’s events include holiday sales by local and regional artists and craftspeople. Among the list of artists are some of the best in the ORBI region, many of whom have worked with ORBI in the past.
